Bicycle Cinema @ Launch Event for Grow:Brixton

On thing that is amazing about our organisation is the opportunity to get involved with some of the incredible projects happening all over the country and last night was no exception when we took our Bicycle Cinema to launch event of Grow:Brixton.

Grow:Brixton is collaborative project between CTA, Edible Bus Stop and Canteen.  A place that brings together the local residents of Brixton through making, growing, eating and performance. 

The scheme draws inspiration from public spaces and community schemes across Europe. Shipping Containers have been used for many different applications, as they are cheap, versatile, easily up-cycled and can quickly be implemented to create enclosures and define spaces. Containers will be used to not only define the site, but also to create spaces for small businesses to rent as workshops and studio space. The combination of different sized containers creates a variety of rentable spaces. They will be fitted out internally by teams of apprentices, led by CTA. They are calling this element ‘Brixton Boxes’.
