Pedal-powered multi-point mobile phone charger
The average mobile phone requires 2.5watts over about a half hour period to achieve sufficient charge. A person using a bicycle-generator can produce an average of 50watts which means that a single person pedalling constantly will be able to charge 20 consecutive mobile phones.
At the Greenman we charged peoples mobile phone for free if they pedalled! The idea was that only a fraction of their energy was required to charge their phone, the bulk of the energy was stored and used to power a band and cinematic events. At latitude we easily raised £600 for Great Ormond Street with the help of Tommy Holgate and team.
