Our Big Cycle Cinema uses the energy from 12-15 people pedaling to provide a cinematic performance for up to 1000 people. The Big Cycle Cinema is designed to educate and entertain. All the electricity for the performance is produced by the cyclists. Having generating their own energy, participants will be encourage to think a little about their own energy consumption and hopefully make a small step change to reducing it.
The Pedal powered cinema is a partnership between Electric Pedals and our local Free Film Festival community group. Some of the proceeds from the Big Cycle Cinema go towards promoting free films in neighbourhood venues around south east London.
It’s a great way to bring communities together, especially when they have to pedal to keep the film going!
Our Pedal powered cinema needs around 12 adults and children to power a large projector, sound equipment and DVD player. We arrive with no stored energy, we don’t use pre-charged batteries, so the it’s is completely reliant on human energy.
Please get in touch if you’re interested in having the Pedal powered cinema in your local community or at an event.
