Pedal-powered cinema @ launch of Bear Pit Cinema Yurt

Bonfire night saw us celebrating the launch of Anna Best’s Bearpit Cinema Yurt over at the Cyclopark in Gravesend. It kicked off with a Bearpit Bunch Bike Ride giving people the opportunity to ride some of the more unusual bicycles before settling down to a bicycle powered screening of the cult classic The Moon and the Sledgehammer.

As darkness fell over the Cyclopark, people arriving were greeted by a very cool circus style arrow, unwittingly powered by the cyclist inside the yurt:

And inside the beautifully airbrushed yurts, we setup a couple of bicycles and our pedal powered field cinema:

There was a really nice mix of young and old sat down to watch the British 1971 cult documentary film directed by Philip Trevelyan which documents the eccentric lives of the Page family, consisting of Mr Page, and his adult children Jim, Pete, Nancy and Kath, who live in a forest near Chiddingly, Sussex without mains gas, mains electricity or running water. The sons find employment by fixing mechanical things as odd jobs and maintain two traction engines.

A very lovely evening was had by all!
